UNDP Celebrating 45 years of partnership with Mauritius
UNDP is launching this historical booklet on 24 October 2014, as on this day in 1945, the United Nations was formally established after a majority of its founding members ratified the Charter setting up the world body.
Observing United Nations Day provides an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to the ideals of the United Nations. In every corner of the world, the United Nations is a living testament of hope. It lives in the hearts and minds of every citizen to end violence and promote tolerance; advance development and ensure equality; protect human rights and alleviate poverty. This history is dedicated to all past and serving UNDP staff and officials in Mauritius, whose dedication and service are to be commended. It is the Mauritian national staff, contractors, and
service providers who have contributed and delivered upon the many programmes throughout the last 45 years. Without their government counterpart support and guidance the successes described in this booklet could not have been achieved. Partnership is at the heart of everything UNDP does, these last 45 years have been a true partnership.
